The Physician Practice Manager is responsible for the daily operations of multi-state physician groups at Oceans Healthcare.  The Practice Manager will manage the day to day administrative operations of the medical staff promoting industry best practices and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The Practice Manager will function in a leadership position that will ensure consistency, efficiency and high value care to our patients.

Essential Functions:
  1. Oversees the administrative responsibilities associated with the physician groups; assists with the onboarding process and training of new physicians; drives Payer/Provider enrollment management and/or coordination

  2. Managing/training on the electronic systems involved such as HCS, gEHRiMed, etc.

  3. Collaborates with internal physician groups and executive leadership to develop and execute new business strategies, i.e. telemedicine capabilities, etc.

  4. Prepares annual budget and manages practices within budgetary guidelines

  5. Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management team on billing and collection activities, and determines economic aspects of new service decisions

  6. Identifies, recommends, and implements practice needs: staffing, services, equipment and facilities

  7. Conducts physician/management meetings, establishes agenda in consultation with physicians, prepares data for meeting, and contributes to decision-making process

  8. Receives and acts upon recommendations for improvements brought forth by physicians to improve quality of care and physician satisfaction

  9. Serves as a liaison to accounting department and General Counsel; also between providers and hospitals with any medical staff issues

  10. Act as ambassador in our local communities - building relationships with other healthcare providers, social/ community organizations, and marketing partners

  11. Works collaboratively with Quality Department ensuring that all required quality measures are addressed and opportunities for improvement identified; Quality reporting management decisions and guidance in coordination with Quality & Outcomes team. I.e. MIPS

  12. Position may require other duties as assigned


Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent is highly preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

  • 5+ years of experience in a practice management role is preferred

  • Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) certification preferred – through MGMA

  • Experience managing a complex multi-state physician practice is preferred


Qualifications/Skills:
  • Possesses strong organizational skills to navigate physicians through onboarding and training

  • Highly patient and thoughtful individual, but has the horsepower to execute and drive throughput

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership within the organization

  • Strong interpersonal relational skills as communication and interaction with hospital leaders, senior leaders, and physicians is a constant component of the role
